Purpose
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) is intended to define the information collected, stored, and used through the giving and alumni website, “iamatiger.clemson.edu” and “forever.clemson.edu” (the “Site”) managed by the Clemson University Foundation. This policy’s target audience is any person that visits the Website. The following policy must be posted on the Website.
Clemson University Foundation (the “Foundation”) respects and values the privacy of the Clemson University community and its visitors. The University strives to balance individual privacy rights in its management of information and execution of the University’s missions.
This Privacy Statement provides an overview of information practices related to the Site. This statement describes our information collection practices and explains how we use and protect your personal information. By using this Site, you are consenting to our collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
Policy
This Website is managed by the Clemson University Foundation in collaboration with its affiliate organizations including Clemson University, the Clemson Alumni Association, and IPTAY (the “Affiliates”).
I. Collection of information
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information regarding your use of the website, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, Internet domain, operating system, browser type and your monitor’s screen size and color depth. We also collect the date and time of your visit, the pages visited and the address of the website from which you linked to clemson.edu. The process for these automatic collections does not identify your email address or other personal information.
The Site also may provide opportunities for site visitors to voluntarily provide personally identifiable information, such as email address, name, telephone number or street address. The University may aggregate information collected from your visit to this website with other information at the University.
A. Cookies
The Site might place cookies on your computer upon your visit. Cookies are small text files that allow us to track activity on our websites, including where visitors are going and how much time they spend there. You can disable cookies by adjusting the settings in your browser. Cookies do not provide any personally identifying information. Some websites might require the use of cookies to access full functionality or to customize a site.
The Site uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics places a cookie on your computer to analyze how you use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is transmitted to and stored by Google on their servers. Google uses this information to compile reports on website activity, and then University site owners use that information to improve websites. Google might also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google does not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
b. Personal information
We collect information you provide through registration, use of features, use of functionality, and contacting us. In order to access and use certain content, features and functions of the Site, including alumni registration, giving history, update contact information, and to subscribe to newsletters you must provide certain personal information. The Foundation or the Affiliates may supplement your data through web searches, vendors, or similar search vehicles. The types of information that we collect includes but is not limited to biographical and demographics such as names, email address, physical address, phone number, birthdate, and spouse’s name. Users may also be asked to provide their interest areas, including alumni groups and student activities while they were at Clemson University. Philanthropic gifts and certain purchases will also be collected and stored.
The Site is not intended for children under thirteen (13) years of age. The Foundation does not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13). If you are under thirteen (13), please do not provide any information on this Website.
We will ask you to create your User ID and password so that only you can access your data. Users may visit the Website anonymously and refuse to supply personally identification information, however that may prevent the User from engaging in certain Site activities.
c. credit card information
We do not store credit card information on our servers. We use merchant services payment gateway providers to facilitate the transfer of information between our donation forms to the acquiring bank. For more details visit Blackbaud Merchant and Payment Services at www.blackbaud.com/bbms.
D. non-personal identification information
The Foundation may collect non-personal information about Users when Users interact with the Site. Non-personal information may include the browser name, type of computer and technical information about Users’ means of connection to the Site such as the internet service provider.
II. How We Use Information
The Foundation and its Affiliates may use your Personal Information for the following purposes which include but are not limited to:

In addition to your personal information, we may use your other information about you for the following purposes:

We maintain standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information collected via the Site. The Site is hosted by Blackbaud. Databases are protected with various physical, technical and procedural measures. We restrict access to your information by unauthorized persons. Employees are informed and trained about their responsibility to protect constituent’s data, and we provide them with appropriate guidelines for adhering to our business ethics standards and confidentiality policies.
Iv. Express Consent and Agreement
Voluntarily providing your information, whether as a registered user or otherwise, you affirmatively acknowledge, understand and hereby agree that you are giving us your consent to collect information and track your activities and your use of the website features as described in this policy.

You have the following options available should you choose to limit the use of or access to your information. You may request changes by sending an email with details to Alumni Records at alumni_records-l@clemson.edu.
VI. Policy for the Release of Alumni Information

We seek to use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect personal information within our organization. Additionally, it is University policy to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding the privacy and security of user information. However, due to the evolving nature of information technology, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Your use of this site is solely at your own risk. VIII. Retention Period
We strive to keep personal data in our records only as long as necessary to complete the purpose of the intended business activity. Retention periods vary and are established considering our legitimate purposes and all applicable legal requirements.
IX. Changes to this Policy
The Foundation may update this Policy at any time and from time to time and we will post any changes to this page. The most recent version of the Policy is reflected by the version date located at the bottom of this Policy.
