Workday at Clemson will streamline many existing Clemson systems into one cloud‑based system—enabling information to flow more easily, move faster, and simplify the employee experience.
important dates:
- The University’s cutover to Workday will begin at the start of FY27 (July 1, 2026).
- FYE Rollover will occur Friday, July 10, 2026.
- The Advancement IT and Finance teams will load Workday customizations into our CADENCE production environment beginning Friday, July 10, 2026.
- All Workday customizations will be live on Monday, July 13th, 2026.
What to expect:
- New 'Cost Center' values will replace department values for Report Code 2 fields in CADENCE.

- For example, Department 0314-Biological Sciences will become CC0149 SCI | Biological Sciences.
- A temporary 'Historic Report Code 2' designation attribute will display the old department code.
- New 'Workday Gift ID' designation attributes will replace CUBS number designation attributes in CADENCE.

- For example, the Workday Gift ID for B0004 - Annual Operations will become GF03288.
- A temporary 'Historic CUBS number' designation attribute will display the old CUBS number.

- As you explore Workday, you can use the following resources when you need help:
- Workday@Clemson Training Library: This searchable library contains training resources like guides and self-paced training to support you as you navigate Workday. If you have a question about how to perform a task, start here first!
- Instructor-Led and Self-Paced Training: Enrollments in instructor-led and self-paced training courses are being made based on security roles. If your security access in Workday will require you or allow you to perform certain tasks that require additional training, you will be enrolled in courses related to that function. Staff will receive an email if and when they are enrolled in training courses.
- Local Resource Group: Advancement has a Local Resource Group, made up of a few team members who have received training on how to help you navigate the system. If you can’t find what you need in the Training Library, contact a member of our LRG to ask for help.
- Service Now: If your question relates to something our LRG can’t support, we’ll help direct you to ServiceNow where you can submit a support request with the appropriate team members in HR and Finance. This is facilitated through the same system as ITHelp, so you’ll get notifications as your request is triaged.
- Paychecks in Workday: Users can review how information is display or calculated on payslips by reviewing this 'Understanding you paycheck in Workday' article.

- Workday requires certain browser versions, operating systems, and Duo requirements to access the platform. Check your devices on July 1.
